Our Seattle Seawolves were honored to attend the 90th Annual Sports Star of the Year Awards, presented by Microsoft, on February 27th at the Seattle Convention Center. The night celebrated the best in Washington sports, recognizing outstanding athletes, teams, and stories that shaped the past year. While we didn't take home an award, we were proud to be part of this prestigious event and support our fellow nominees and winners!
Congratulations to all this year’s Sports Star of the Year Awards winners! It was an incredible night recognizing athletes and contributors who have significantly impacted Washington sports. Special shoutout to:
🏆 Jordan Chiles – Winner of Sports Star of the Year – Women’s Sports (Team USA Gymnastics)
🏆 Cal Raleigh – Winner of Sports Star of the Year – Men’s Sports (Seattle Mariners)
🏆 Jessica Campbell – Winner of Sports Story of the Year for making NHL history with the Seattle Kraken
Their dedication and excellence continue to inspire athletes across all sports, and we are proud to celebrate their achievements!
The event was filled with excitement, from the red carpet arrivals to the awards ceremony itself. Our team had the chance to mingle with other athletes, coaches, and sports personalities, strengthening the bonds within the Washington sports community.
One of the highlights was the Champions Gallery, where fans and athletes alike could take in Washington’s rich sports history, including championship memorabilia and legendary moments. The energy in the room was electric, and it was a privilege to be surrounded by so much talent and passion for the game.
While we didn’t take home an award this time, being part of this celebration has only fueled our motivation for the upcoming rugby season. The Seawolves are ready to bring the same championship spirit to the pitch as we aim for another successful year.
We want to thank the Seattle Sports Commission for putting on such a fantastic event and for continuing to recognize and uplift Washington’s incredible athletes and sports stories.
Stay tuned for more updates as we head into the season—see you on the pitch!
