We delivered a statement win on Wednesday night, overpowering Anthem Rugby Carolina at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex. It was one of our most complete performances of the season, with nine different players crossing the try line in a thrilling offensive display.

Our backline dynamo Duncan was at the heart of the attack, setting up four tries and scoring one himself to earn TV’s Man of the Match honors. His vision, pace, and pinpoint passing tore through the Anthem defense and kept us on the front foot all night.

Up front, Dewald Koetz anchored our forward pack with a massive shift around the park. He was a force defensively, relentless on the carry, and set the tone in the set piece, we went 100% on our scrums and stole a few of theirs, applying pressure from the start.

Dan Kriel brought his trademark physicality, consistently breaking the gain line and giving us the edge in contact. His strong carries were a big part of keeping Anthem pinned back, and he was one of nine different Seawolves to score.

This was a big step forward for us after narrowly edging Anthem back in Round 3 at home. Our cohesion, execution, and intensity were all on display in Charlotte, and the final score showed just how far we’ve come since that earlier matchup.

Now we turn the page quickly as we head to New Orleans to face NOLA Gold this Sunday, our second match in just five days.
