A statement from Drew Dambreville, Chief Operating Officer, Seattle Seawolves Rugby
The Seattle Seawolves remain unwavering in our commitment to compete in the 2026 Major League Rugby season. With our strong operational foundation, renewed partnership with the City of Tukwila and Starfire Sports through 2026, and the backing of a passionate Pacific Northwest rugby community, we are more energized than ever to lead the growth of professional rugby in the region.
During the 2025 season alone, Seawolves players, coaches, and staff dedicated more than 1,063 hours to community engagement—meeting fans, conducting youth coaching clinics, and proudly serving as ambassadors for the sport and our valued partners.
This commitment has only intensified in the off-season. Our team is averaging three community events per week, focused on growing the game, expanding awareness of rugby’s unique culture, and immersing ourselves in the communities that have always supported us. From leading youth tackling clinics and partnering with Marshawn Lynch at his annual free youth football camp to bringing rugby to 90 enthusiastic kids in collaboration with the King County Play Equity Coalition, and activating at Seafair, Fleet Week, and the America SCORES Cup—we are focused on deep, sustained engagement.
As I write this, we have just wrapped up another Seawolves Youth Rugby Skills Camp—a cornerstone of our broader mission to place rugby balls in the hands of 20,000 Pacific Northwest youth before the 2031 Men’s Rugby World Cup arrives in the United States.
Setbacks are part of every sport’s evolution and will not deter the Seawolves, Major League Rugby, or World Rugby in our shared commitment to establishing and growing the game across the United States.
Go Seawolves!
